“His authority is so perfect and precise that the forming of a word on his lips causes reality to become mutable.”
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Gen. 1:1-3
Our atmosphere is a product of our awareness of who God is. And our God is the Father of Lights, literally. The essence of all light in the universe was formed the instant His will was met with the λόγος, the Word. In the first chapter of John we receive deeper insight into the Word and His remarkable role in creation.
“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.” -John 1:1-4
We can easily see through context that the Word being discussed here is Jesus Christ. Therefore, we can confidently confess that Jesus Christ is the conduit that brought life into all Creation. This revelation has groundbreaking implications when partnered with the truth that the Spirit of Jesus Christ lives and dwells within us. If the same Spirit dwells in us that dwells in the Spark of Creation himself, will we see any dreams unfulfilled? Will we ever meet a conflict that cannot be quelled? Will we ever exist in an atmosphere that is immutable? No. Our very identity as Christ-carrying citizens of heaven makes those things impossible! If the Spirit of Jesus Christ lives within us, than we veil everywhere we step foot with His mighty presence and power.
Awareness of this truth will bring radical change to your daily walk with the Living God. In any moment when we become aware of the presence and power of Jesus Christ, our atmosphere becomes saturated with hope.
Hopelessness flees in the presence of the One Who made a Way.
What does this mean for us? This means that the presence and power of Jesus in our lives can make us conduits to heaven. If we choose awareness of who He is over awareness of who we are, we activate a link with heaven. We become glimpses into heaven; glimpses that will be responsible for pointing countless souls toward their Savior. What a profound honor. Knowledge that the King of Creation desires to dwell within my broken frame stirs a deep well of gratitude within me. Gratitude that I will choose to let blossom into service and sacrifice. I will serve the One who is constantly creating and sculpting me with his tender and scarred hands. I will sacrifice my desires for the One who desires me as I am. I will carry the Light proudly and my atmosphere will swell and abound with grace and mercy for the weak; healing and respite for the afflicted. I will not hinder the λόγος.
